Turn on MTV's popular Total Request Live any night of the week and right smack in the middle of the countdown for the most requested videos of the day will be blink-182's All the Small Things. The video, which pokes fun at teeny-bopper bands, is the group's second single off their third album, Enema of the State.
"I grew up watching MTV, so it is really weird having our video on Total Request Live every night with those girls popping up in the boxes during the video yelling, 'Hey, I requested blink-182 because those guys are awesome,' or whatever they say," says Mark Hoppus, bassist and vocalist for the punk rock band. "All of our dreams have come true in the past three months. We are very fortunate and thankful to be where we are."
After a long-running stint on the Warped Tour, blink-182 are launching yet another series of concerts with the Loser Kids Tour, which also includes Silverchair and Fenix TX, who are managed by Hoppus.
"It sucks to tour for sure. We tour all the time and playing the shows is rewarding and that is definitely what we are in a band for, but the hour that you are on stage is the only good part of the whole thing," Hoppus says.
So what can fans in Phoenix expect?
"Bad jokes and bad music played poorly -- that's what they can expect," Hoppus says.
Despite their comical outlook in their music and on stage, many critics keep calling the band "mature" but for some reason blink-182 just can't see themselves that way.
"Our music has matured and so has our songwriting, but basically we are still the same immature bastards that we were when we first started out. We are idiots for sure, we haven't matured just our music has," Hoppus says.

blink-182 perform an all-ages show with Silverchair and Fenix TX at Mesa Amphitheatre, 201 N. Center St., Mesa, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Tickets: $18. Info: (480) 644-2560
